Vista Shipped!

by aaron on November 8th, 2006

Windows Vista’s finally out the door, and with it comes a whole bevy of new stuff, like .NET FX 3.0 (with WPF/Avalon). I’ve spent the past year working on nothing but ensuring that Visual Studio works beautifully with Vista, and it’s great to see Vista finally making it out the door. I’m just finishing up an installation of Vista RTM on my laptop right now. Can’t wait!

Great job Aaron! Before I move my main laptop to Vista I need to be certain that Visual Studio development works fine. Are there any issues small or big that prevents this, or do I have to wait for SP1 or later. As you know this topic has been adressed on several blogs througout the last few months.

Hey Wictor – Good to hear from you, and thanks for the kind words! Support information for VS 2005 on Vista was published to MSDN this morning.

    Thanks,
    Aaron

I’ve been using VS 2005 on Vista for the last few months and had no issues with it. YMMV, of course, but it is a data point.
